Dr. Sergij Gabršček
was a member of the Department for Ceramics at Jozef Stefan
Institute in Ljubljana, where he cooperated in several research
projects. In 1992 he received an award of the Republic of
Slovenia for scientific and research work.
From 1982 to 1987 he worked at Iskra Delta as a projector
and project manager developing new computer operated systems
in chemical industry and related fields.
Since 1991 he has been working in the field of education.
In 1992 he became head of the Department for Evaluation at
The National Education Institute and in 1993 the director
of The National Examination Centre, which he set up and managed
until 1999. During his work at The National Examination Centre
he set up a wide network of cooperation with experts and examination
centres all around the world. As an expert he cooperated in
several international projects sponsored by various international
organisations (OECD, Council of Europe, UNESCO, World Bank,
IBO and others) in the field of certification systems. Since
1999 he has been the director of the department for research
and development at CPZ-International.

Metka Uršič
started as a researcher at Lek, where she developed new
products in the Department for Research and Development. She
has also cooperated in research projects at The Institute
for Nutrition at the Faculty for Medicine in Ljubljana. From
1993 to 1999 she cooperated with The Examinations Centre,
where she set up a publishing section, which also included
pre-printing services, electronic printing and sales network
for the publications, and as the first one in Slovenia introduced
print on demand.
As editor she managed the publishing policy of the Centre.
She supported many deficitary fields of assessment by publishing
the first collections of questions for the examinations and
materials for candidates and teachers to help them to prepare
for the examinations. She has also supported important examination
fields, for which there are very few candidates, such as philosophy.
She has edited over 100 publications. Her work was also directed
at public relations, informing the public, students and parents.
She opened the field of analysis of questions for the examinations
and the field of copyright law for the examinations. She began
and lead the standardisation of the examination procedures
of The National Education Institute according to the ISO 9001
standards. Since 1999 she has been the director of CPZ International.
